Our History
The company began its operations in 1961 in Polystipos village, Nicosia district, under the management of Mr. George Kyriakides. At first, by using only traditional methods of production, it produced only, ‘Hiromeri’ or Cyprus Smoked Ham. It slowly began to broaden its production line, by adding more traditional pork products of the area. The company products can be found exclusively in selected supermarkets of the island.
In 1989, Mr. Costas Kyriakides, the founder’s son, took over the company. That was a turning point of the company since the modernisation of the company began at that point. As a result of the hard work, the company has been awarded the B’ Award of progressiveness by FAO in 1992. In 1998, the company name changed from “Kyriakides Meat Products” to “Allantika Madari Ltd.”.
As the demand for the products continued to increase, it became obvious that the existing unit lacked the capacity to support it. In 2003, after conducting market research, the management decided that it would be appropriate to build a new, modern and more advanced unit in the industrial area of Kyperounda. Construction began in mid-2004 (based on HACCP standards) and was completed at the beginning of 2005. The investment into the latest technology and the newest building construction cost more than 1 million euros.
The supreme quality of the products, the authenticity and the new state of the art factory established ‘Allantika Madari ‘ as one of the most reliable and value for money smoked meats, both locally and Internationally.
